What is Hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronidase is a safe medical agent that corrects incorrectly injected filler or filler that has not settled and been pushed out of place.

Because it is performed as an injection therapy rather than surgery, there is no worry about scarring, and on average most of the filler tissue is broken down and subsides within 24 hours after the procedure.

Changes you can expect

  • Resetting bumpy, over-corrected filler lines

It smoothly dissolves areas where the filler shows the Tyndall effect (skin appearing bluish) or has clumped from over-injection, restoring the natural original line as before the procedure.

  • Correcting filler that has migrated or spread over time

It neatly tidies areas where nasolabial-fold or nasal-bridge filler has been pushed into surrounding tissue by gravity or muscle movement over time, blurring the boundary.

  • Immediate response to vascular compression and delayed inflammatory side effects

It immediately resolves issues such as obstruction of normal blood flow or delayed immune reactions (swelling, pain) that may occur after filler injection, through its rapid breakdown mechanism.

  • Building a clean base for new filler re-treatment

Because it is difficult to create a new design when residual filler remains, hyaluronidase completely clears the base so that precise re-treatment becomes possible.

Recommended for you

  1. Those who are unhappy with or find the shape unnatural after a filler procedure
  2. Those whose contour has collapsed because the filler has sagged or spread sideways over time
  3. Those whose filler shows through bluish in thin-skinned areas (such as under the eyes)
  4. Those who want to remove all existing filler and re-treat with a completely new design

Aftercare precautions

  1. If hyaluronidase remains in the tissue, it can dissolve even newly injected filler. If you wish to refill the same area with filler, you should wait at least 3 days to 1 week before the re-treatment.
  2. Because hyaluronidase is a protein component, allergic reactions such as itching or wheals may rarely occur. You must safely proceed only after undergoing a small-dose skin reaction test before the procedure.
  3. It is best to avoid alcohol, saunas, and steam rooms for one week after the procedure.
  4. Refrain from rubbing the treated area hard, applying pressure to it, or getting meridian massage.

FAQ Frequently asked questions

No. Hyaluronidase acts only on the cross-links of externally injected artificial hyaluronic acid (HA) filler as its target.
